Amazing St. John's, NL

Living in British Columbia meant it was not an easy hop-in-the-car trip to get to St. John's, NL for the official launch of my novel with Breakwater Books, but it was so worth every bit of effort it took to get there!

I was completely blown away by how supportive the people of St. John's were towards the literary arts, although I probably shouldn't have been as I've seen firsthand on my many trips to Canada's eastern most province just how supportive people are of other mediums in the arts. Still, it was incredibly rewarding to see the theatre at The Rooms almost completely full.

I had the great pleasure of sharing the stage with three other Breakwater authors: Maggie Burton (a temporary grace), Diedre Halbot (Little Spoons) and Delores V. Mullings (Black Girl in the Ring).

The wonderful Rebecca Roberts of Breakwater Books was the moderator for the panel discussion we held after we'd each done a brief reading, and I heard rumours of an amazing spread of food in the atrium outside the theatre afterwards but the number of people who purchased books and wanted them signed kept the four of us busy at the signing table until closing time!

Seriously, the warmth and support I received in St. John's was almost overwhelming.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for the event, to Breakwater Books and The Rooms for hosting it, and to the three amazing writers I got to share the stage with. Definitely a night to remember!
