Spotted in the Wild
A huge thanks to author Shelley Wood for sending me this photo of my book, "out in the wild," as she put it. I had the good fortune to be part of a writing group with Shelley back when I was working on the second draft of this novel and she was finishing off The Quintland Sisters and starting The Leap Year Gene (both going on to be best sellers!). She was such a great help and is acknowledged as such in the back of my book--one of the many people who were part of the village

Thank you BC Reviews!
Well today is the official release date of my novel and, as if in celebration, my publisher just forwarded the link to this lovely review Ryan Frawley. Thank-you, Ryan, for your kind words and understanding the connections I've tried to bring to light between mental health and domestic violence. You can find the review HERE #breakwaterbooks #debutnovel #domesticviolence #mentalhealth #dualnarrative

Second Review for TAOGLAF
Because I am signed up for Google Alerts, whenever something with my name is published in the news, I get notified. It's something I initiated years ago to keep track of both my photography and travel writing pieces. So when I got notified this review for The Art of Getting Lost and Found had been published, I quickly hit the link, then held my breath as I read it. While it's not quite as glowing as the first review I received from The Manitoban, I'm still excited that it's r

First Review is Out
I confess, I have been truly anxious about how I will handle reviews. I know that not everyone likes everything they read and I have notoriously thin skin when it comes to feedback that's negative. So, it was with a HUGE sigh of relief that I read this first review to come out on The Art of Getting Lost and Found, pubished in The Manitoban. Thank you, Carrington Dong for taking the time to read and write such a lovely review of my novel. This one will be the one I will turn t

Early Release for Art of Getting Lost and Found
I am thrilled to announce that my novel, The Art of Getting Lost and Found, which was due to be released March 10, 2026, has started appearing on bookstore shelves already and many who pre-ordered are getting their books! So far, I've heard of it being spotted in Ottawa, Vancouver and Kelowna. At my local bookstore, I went in and nearly fainted when I saw it perched on the shelf sitting right beside Jane Urquhart's latest Giller finalist! Urquhart is one of my favourite Canad

Because We Buy Oat Milk
I recently had someone as if there was a link to my short story that won the Jacob Zilber Fiction prize. After it was featured in Prism International, it was then selected for the Biblioasis's anthology, Best Canadian Stories 2025 . Thanks to the wonderful platform of Substack, and the kind people at Biblioasis, you can read the story free of charge on their Bibliophile Substack as they featured it as an example of a good short story! And so, you can find it online here:...

Pre-Order Available!
I am super excited to announce that my novel, The Art of Getting Lost and Found, is now available for pre-order from Indigo, Amazon and most independent bookstores. I honestly didn't even know this until a friend looked it up online, and there it was! It was one of those "pinch-me" moments, to see its beautiful cover finally unveiled and to read the write up that the publishers have decided to use for its pitch. Release date is March 10, 2026.
